Tasting Menu
A downloadable game for Windows
You went down to the walk-in for more stock. You didn't come back up.
Below the restaurant is a kitchen that doesn't end. It's divided into stations, and every station belongs somewhere. Each one has been left running long enough for the food to take over, and none of it wants you passing through.
You have a sword and a shield. Go down.
What it is
Every five floors is a different country's cooking, with its own enemies, its own boss, and its own hazards. This build is the first five floors: the Americas.
Runs are endless. There's no finish line, just how far down you get before something eats you.
The menu
Panquake. A stack of pancakes. Flat things get flipped, so it launches itself into the air, hangs at the top of the arc, and crashes down with a shockwave. Watch the ground, not the enemy.
Kernel Cannon. Corn on a gun carriage. Kernels pop under heat and travel, so it's artillery. It never moves. It just shells you until you deal with it.
Garlic. Never attacks you. Hides behind whatever's between you, and shields everything else in the room. Leaving it alone is the mistake it wants you to make.
Hot Sauce. Floor five. Four attacks, and it picks between them by reading how far away you're standing.
Lil' Ghostpeppers. Summoned by the boss, and famous for exactly one thing. They sprint at you, plant themselves, and go off after a two-second fuse.

Notes
This is a student project and a vertical slice, built solo for my final year on BA (Hons) Games Development and Futures at ACM Guildford.
The art is placeholder, and there is no audio. I'm a programmer, and I made a deliberate choice to spend the time on systems instead.

1. Download the zip
2. Extract the whole folder.
3. Run TastingMenu.exe

If Windows SmartScreen warns you, that's because the build isn't code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway.
